Please note that we are currently unable to provide certification. You can have certificates, signatures etc. certified by any seal-bearing authority, e. g. the town hall.
What to do if the application is almost done and only the certification of the certificates is missing? Good advice does not need to be expensive!
Certification of certificates, signatures, etc. are granted by the social service. You pay for each certification including the copy
- for original documents up to 4 pages a fee of 2 Euro
- for original documents to be certified of 5 pages and more 3 Euro.
International Student ID (ISIC)
If you are traveling abroad, you should have the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) in your pocket if possible. The ISIC is the only internationally recognised international student ID card.
With the ISIC you get benefits

in over 130 countries for more than 150,000 offers.
The international student ID can be applied for by students (full-time) as well as secondary school students who are at least 12 years old. The ISIC costs 15 euros and is valid for one year from the date of issue.
The ISIC was introduced in 1953 by students for students as a travel and service card with documentary character. It has been recognised by UNESCO since 1968. The ISIC is issued by the ISIC Association, a non-profit organisation. Authorised publisher for the Federal Republic of Germany is rds (travel service Deutscher Studentenschaften GmbH).
There are currently around 4 million ISIC holders around the globe each year. In Germany, there are about 150,000 students who use the ISIC per year.
On the website www.isic.de, you will receive information about national and international ISIC partners from the areas of travel, transport and accommodation, culture and entertainment, sports, shopping and gastronomy. In addition, online offers in the hardware and software area as well as reservation and booking tools are listed.
You get the ISIC from the social service. Please bring
- your student ID,
- your passport and
- a current passport photo
for the issuing of your ISIC.
